Art
At our federation we place a great emphasis on a broad and balanced curriculum. A broad and balanced curriculum incorporated a priority towards a holistic and creative approach to education. Our Art and Design curriculum enables children to express themselves in a creative and imaginative manner.
By the end of each key stage children will have given the opportunity to experience a range of media with a variety of different starting points, influences and genres appropriate to their ages.
Pupils will leave the Federation with a strong foundation in the key areas of Art and Design. They will have enjoyed developing an appreciation for Art and Design. Through their experiences they will be able to recognise a range of Art or Art features as well as developed skills in:
- Drawing
- Painting
- Craft, design, materials and techniques
- Knowing and applying the formal elements of colour and form
Throughout their primary career children will have made progress in:
- Making
- generating ideas
- formal elements
- knowledge of artists
- Evaluating
This progress in skills will enable them to have a freedom of expression that will challenge the expectations of our cohorts and help to raise aspirations in the subject.
